Bulldog boys basketball turns defense to offense in victory over Council Bluffs TJ

The Le Mars Community boys basketball team wrapped up conference play on Tuesday night with a 78-42 drubbing of Council Bluffs TJ.

Things went Le Mars’ way right off the start of the game. Within the first five seconds, Le Mars had a breakaway dunk by Tate Murphy. That turned into a 14-0 run that the Bulldogs never looked back from. Head coach Cody Dyhrkopp says that energy was great to see.

Murphy ended up finishing with 22 points on a night where 11 Bulldogs found the bottom of the basket. Coach Dyhrkopp says Murphy’s ability to transition the offense makes him a dangerous weapon.

Le Mars wraps up the MRAC schedule at 5-9 in league play. They have one more game left in the regular season before tournament play starts on Monday, February 24. That is still a long time from now, and Coach Dyhrkopp is reminding his guys to take things one day at a time.

The Bulldogs end the regular season against Spencer on Friday night in Le Mars. KLEM will broadcast the game with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM.
