The Le Mars boys basketball team ended their season on Monday night with a 68-41 loss at No. 8 MOC-Floyd Valley.
The Bulldogs got behind early with the Dutchmen closing the first quarter on a 13-0 run, and it was tough to stage a comeback. Head coach Cody Dyhrkopp says the MOC-Floyd Valley offense has so many options, and it is tough to cover them all.
Defensive struggles turned into offensive struggles on the other end. The Bulldogs were not without their chances, they just had a tough time getting them to go through the basket. Coach Dyhrkopp says his guys continued to battle through it all.
The loss ends the careers of seven Bulldog seniors who will graduate this spring. Coach Dyhrkopp says this group was dedicated to the program and were hurt to see the season come to an end.
The Bulldogs will be bringing back a group of guys who have a lot of playing experience whether coming off the bench or the starting lineup. Coach Dyrhkopp says those guys showed great growth throughout the season and hopes that will continue through the offseason.
Le Mars ends the season at 7-15. MOC-Floyd Valley will take on Sioux Center in a substate semifinal on Thursday.
