Wichieng Hosnyang signs to run track at Iowa Western Community College

Le Mars Community senior athlete Wichieng Hosnyang recently signed to run track at Iowa Western Community College next season.

Hosnyang was looking for a place where he could run and compete at a high level for his college career. He says Iowa Western provides him with exactly what he wants.

Hosnyang plans to run hurdles in college next season. For some, track is just a fun way to stay in shape during the offseason of their favorite sport. For Hosnyang, he says it is much more than that to him.

The Le Mars Community track program has prepared Hosnyang well for what is to come at the next level. He says the coaching staff really knows how to get through to every athlete and help them on a personal level.

Taking this step in the sport of track is a big milestone for an athlete and for the program. Hosnyang hopes that other athletes who see this will want to put their head down and do the work it takes to be a successful athlete too.

As for the senior year that will be starting soon, Hosnyang has some big goals. He says he wants his name to be all over the record sheet when his career ends in Le Mars.

The Bulldogs will open the season at the Iowa Track Coaches Association’s Indoor Championships held in Ames at Iowa State University on Thursday, March 13.
