The MMCRU boys track and field team picked up right where they left off from last year starting 2025 with a meet win on their home track in Marcus on Monday night.
The Royals welcomed a couple of tough teams to Marcus for the track meet. Head coach Colin Youde says seeing good competition early will make his team better in the long run.
The Royals were champions in seven events with two coming in shorter distance races. Coach Youde says that group of runners showed out in the first meet of the year.
A couple of seniors caught the eye of Coach Youde with Lucas Braun having a hand in three event wins including both jumps and Jace Colling having a hand in two event wins. Coach Youde says both lead the team in a different but very valuable way.
The Royals are next in action this weekend at the Sioux City Relays.
