Floyd Valley Healthcare Project
The Floyd Valley Healthcare Board of Trustees heard no public comment during Tuesday morning’s hearing on the proposed Infusion Suite and Emergency Department Remodel.  Floyd Valley CEO Dustin Wright says the  project will provide a better experience for chemo-infusion therapies.
The infusion suite was highlighted during the Floyd Valley Foundation Gala last fall when close to $100-thousand was raised for the project.
Wright told KLEM news that, with an increased demand for services for behavioral and mental health needs, the total project also involves adding four additional rooms in the adjoining emergency department.
It’s expected that the public bid process for the project will  take place this fall, with the estimated one-year construction to start at the beginning of the year.  It’s estimated that the total cost of the project will be between four point five and five million dollars.

Merrill Ambulance Request Tabled
The Plymouth County Board of Supervisors tabled a request Tuesday from the Merrill Ambulance for a defibrillator.  The board cited a current lack of monies in a special opioid settlement fund as Board Chairperson Don Kass explains.
The request was tabled until December after a discussion that included bringing in all these types of funding requests together from all the areas of the county during budget time.  Supervisor Mike Van Otterloo
Kass told KLEM news there have been numerous requests from communities all over Plymouth County.
Discussion in the meeting also brought to light possible upcoming requests for drug identification equipment.  Van Otterloo says the Plymouth County Sherriff has been asked to research these units and their cost.
More on other action taken by the Board of Supervisors in upcoming newscasts.
