Crop Report
Timely rains during the growing season mean this year’s crops have great potential, but Leah Ten Napel, Field Agronomist for Iowa State Extension and Outreach in Northwest Iowa says too much rain can cause a negative impact on crops.
She says growers need to be out in their fields scouting, looking for Tar Spots and Southern Rust.
Ten Napel says growers in Northwest Iowa are optimistic about yields, and depending on weather conditions, we may see an early harvest.
Creative Conversations
The Le Mars Arts Center will host what they’re calling a “Creative Conversations” Open House & Forum. The event will be held on Thursday, August 21st from 4:30- 7:00 pm at the Le Mars Arts Center. The community is invited to enjoy an evening filled with live art, live music, and even an art giveaway.
This free event is designed to spotlight local artists, showcase new programs, exhibitions, and updates to the Arts Center, and—most importantly—hear from those attending. Organizers say whether you’re a longtime supporter or a first-time visitor, this is your opportunity to help shape the future of arts and culture in Le Mars.
Highlights planned for the event include live artists & gallery tours, Local musician, interactive feedback stations, and free ice cream courtesy of Wells Enterprises and Blue Bunny. Attendees can expect a casual, come-and-go atmosphere with opportunities to connect, contribute, and celebrate. RSVPs encouraged at lemarsarts.com/events and walk-ins are always welcome.
