Lisa Eisma Named August Employee of the Month
The Le Mars Community Foundation Board surprised Lisa Eisma, Administrative Assistant, when they named her the August Employee of the Month for Le Mars Community Schools.
Lisa has been with the district for 16 years. Her nomination says she goes above and beyond in her role as Administrative Assistant, and that her outstanding performance, dedication, and professionalism does not go unnoticed and is truly appreciated.
It goes on to say that Lisa’s organizational skills, positive attitude, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks make her an invaluable part of Le Mars Community Schools.

City/ School Election is November 4, 2025
The City and School Election will take place November 4th and candidates can begin filing on Monday, August 25th. City Candidates will file their papers at the Auditor’s office and School Canidates will file with the school secretary.
September 18th is the filing deadline for the election.

Sioux Gateway Airport to Add Second Flight To Denver
A United Express Skywest Airlines morning flight from Sioux Gateway Airport to Denver will begin on January 6th.
This will be the second daily nonstop flight from Sioux City to United’s Denver International Airport Hub. The flight will be on a 50-passenger aircraft that will depart from Sioux City at 6 a.m. with a return flight from Denver departing at 8:05 a.m.
The evening flight that leaves Sioux City at 6:53 p.m. will continue but will depart 10 minutes earlier starting January 6th.
Sioux Gateway’s existing nonstop service to Chicago O’Hare International that currently departs at 10:10 a.m. will switch to a 12:45 p.m. departure also on January 6th.

Rock n Roll Labor Day Weekend
The Iowa Rock n Roll Music Association will hold its Hall of Fame induction over Labor Day weekend. This year marks the 28th year of honoring achievements since the association was founded.
The celebration kicks off with an Okoboji Rocks Concert at the Roof Garden Ballroom at Arnolds Park on Friday night, August 29th. The opening ceremony is on Saturday morning, August 30th, at 10, and then at 1:00 you can enjoy the finals of the statewide Iowa Rocks Talent Contest held at the Pearson Lakes Art Center.
