The Le Mars Community girls tennis team picked up their fourth win in their last five meets with a dominant 9-0 win over Storm Lake at home on Thursday night.
Head coach Tifany Wright says the girls are starting to become more confident leading to their most recent success.
The Bulldogs did have to make a few changes to the lineup due to a volleyball/tennis conflict. That moved some girls up the lineup playing at a higher level than they are used to. Coach Wright says that was intimidating at first, but it ended up working out for everyone who made the move.
With a dominating win, the Bulldogs now sit at 4-3 on the season with two more duals next week. Coach Wright says with the season roughly half over, it is important to play with this new-found confidence as the matches get tougher.
Le Mars hosts Cherokee next on the schedule with a matchup on Tuesday, September 2.
