Bulldog Battle of the Bands Debuts Saturday

The Le Mars Community High School is hosting its first ever Bulldog Battle of the Bands this Saturday, with 12 high school marching bands competing.

Le Mars Community High School band director Michael Prichard explained to KLEM how the competition came about.

Prichard explained the structure of Saturday’s events, from clinics for the bands to some special guests.

The UNI Panther Marching Band will end Saturday’s event with a exhibition performance. Prichard wanted to have a college marching band perform at the competition for the students and fans, and to give the new event something special.

He says he’s looking forward to seeing the Battle of the Bands come to fruition after months of planning.

The Bulldog Battle of the Bands will start Saturday evening at 5 p.m in the Le Mars Community Stadium. Admission is set at $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens.
