Texas Wesleyan’s Kolbe Fielder secured the team title at the Northwest Iowa National Invitational in his sophomore year. He says the tournament is a special thing to compete in.
Fielder trailed by four strokes heading into the final day of play but shot a 64 to squeak by and finish on top. He says his short game got better and better thanks to some ideal greens.
Competing at this course proved to be challenging for Fielder and company especially when his shots did not go the way he wanted them to. He says that required him to be on his best to keep his shots as simple as possible.
With this win out of the way, Fielder is hoping this brings him the confidence he needs to compete with the best of the best the rest of the season.
Fielder and the Rams will next compete in New Mexico on October 6 at a tournament hosted by the University of the Southwest.
