Halloween fun at Hillview Recreation Area this Saturday
With Halloween approaching, the Hillview Recreation Area in Hinton will hold their own Trick or Treat event this weekend.
Kids and families are invited to visit the Deer Ridge and Bur Oak campgrounds on Saturday evening, with campers handing out candy and treats. Plymouth County Conservation naturalist Victoria DeVos says there’s more to the night than just trick or treating.
DeVos says that holding events at Hillview is good for both visitors and the park as a whole.
She says her favorite part is seeing Trick or Treaters dressed up in costume.
Halloween at Hillview takes place this Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m., just outside of Hinton at Hillview Recreation Area.

Two hospitalized, one airlifted in Buena Vista County crash
Two drivers were hospitalized following a two vehicle crash Wednesday night in Buena Vista County.
The Iowa State Patrol says a Ford Econoline was westbound on Highway 3 just before 9 p.m. when for an unknown reason it attempted to overtake a semi tractor trailer attempting to make a left hand turn onto County Road M-31.
A Freightliner semi-tractor was coming eastbound on Highway 3 and collided head-on in the eastbound lane with the Econoline.
The Freightliner came to rest on its passenger side blocking the roadway, with the driver taken to a Storm Lake hospital.
The Econoline driver needed to be extracted from the vehicle and was airlifted to Sanford Medical in Sioux Falls.
