Holiday fun will return to the town of Marcus this upcoming weekend, as Marcus’ Hometown Christmas will take place on Saturday, December 13th. Robin Jenness, the treasurer of the Marcus Chamber of Commerce, told KLEM that visitors can expect a lot of Christmas fun.

Activities will be held throughout town on Saturday, with the main highlight being the Lighted Parade starting at 5:15pm on Main Street. Other attractions include pictures with Santa, a Festival of Trees, and fundraisers such as the soup supper benefiting the Marcus Fire Department, and the hot chocolate bar benefiting the Remsen St. Mary’s girls basketball team. Jenness says there are new events planned for this year.

Hometown Christmas in Marcus has been organized and held for several years, Jenness says.

She says the event is great for the community as a whole.
