Father Eugene Earl Sitzmann, age 90 of Cherokee, IA, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Accura Healthcare in Cherokee, IA. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars, IA. Bishop John Keehner and Father David Hemann will preside. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars, IA. A come and go visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee, IA. Visitation with the family present will resume from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday night at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars, IA. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. following the visitation at the church. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 241, Le Mars, IA.
