Gehlen Catholic boys basketball records 10th win of the season

The Gehlen Catholic boys basketball team recorded their 10th win of the season with a 57-48 victory over Woodbury Central on Monday night.

The first half of the game featured an intense, up-and-down, and quick-moving game with Woodbury Central always turning up the pace. Head coach Eric Kellen says that was taxing on his guys to start the game.

The Jays were able to build a lead in the second half thanks to a well-balanced scoring effort from all three levels. Mason Small, Dane Lehmann, and Nolan Teel each scored 14 points in the win. Coach Kellen says with all the focus on Small, it leaves a good number of options for his guards to hit.

The week does not get easier for the Jays who are at Sibley-Ocheyedan for a back-to-back and at No. 2 MMCRU on Friday. Coach Kellen says focusing on what the Jays do best will carry them far.

Gehlen’s matchup with MMCRU on Friday can be heard on KLEM Radio with coverage beginning at 5:45 before the girls game.
