Le Mars boys basketball loses early lead to Sergeant Bluff-Luton

The Le Mars Community boys basketball team could not hold on to their early lead dropping one at home to Sergeant Bluff-Luton by the score of 58-51.

The Bulldogs were cruising in the first quarter jumping out to a 17-6 lead after one. Head coach Cody Dyhrkopp says this rivalry always bring some great play out of his team.

After that, Sergeant Bluff-Luton methodically started a comeback that saw them win the game by seven points after taking the lead for good midway through the fourth quarter. Coach Dyhrkopp says his guys could not take advantage of set play situations making it hard to hold the Warriors off.

With three tough road games on the schedule coming up, it is important that the Bulldogs get right back to work in practice to get better. Coach Dyhrkopp says he wants the guys to come back with an energy to make improvements.

Le Mars is at Sioux City East on Friday night with tip-off set for 7:00 PM.
