Le Mars boys basketball wins third-straight to end regular season

The Le Mars boys basketball team sealed off a three-game winning streak to conclude the regular season defeating Spencer on Friday by the score of 55-39.

For the most part, Le Mars played a stellar game on defense. Le Mars held Spencer to a total of 19 points in the first, third, and fourth quarters combined. However, that second quarter saw the Tigers put up 20 points. Head coach Cody Dyhrkopp says no one was panicked when the Bulldogs went into the locker room trailing.

Another night of play means another night where the Bulldogs shared the ball exceptionally well. Four different players scored at least 12 points each in the win. Coach Dyhrkopp says he loves the unselfishness, but he says they sometimes need to be more selfish in taking the opportunity that is in front of them.

The Bulldogs finish regular season competition with a 9-13 record and will await their first-round playoff matchup set for Monday, February 23 at 7:00 PM. Coach Dyhrkopp says his guys are looking to carry this momentum all the way into the tournament.

Tip-off of Le Mars’ substate quarterfinal will be at 7:00 PM on Monday, February 23. You’ll be able to hear the game on KLEM Radio starting with pregame coverage at 6:45.
