Lindner signs to first-ever Briar Cliff bowling recruiting class

Le Mars Community senior bowler Taylor Lindner recently signed to continue bowling collegiately next season with Briar Cliff University.

Being a bowler looking to bowl in college follows a different process than a basketball player or football player wanting to play their sports in college. Lindner says a lot of the work was on him to put his information out there for college coaches to get in touch with him.

Lindner will be part of the first-ever recruiting class for Briar Cliff bowling which will begin its first-ever season of competition next year. Lindner says that was a tough thing to grasp, but he is looking forward to being a foundation-setter for the program.

College bowling competition does vary from high school bowling namely when it comes to the oil patterns on the lane. Lindner says those patterns make competing a lot tougher than high school bowling, but he says he is prepared for it with all of his offseason bowling competitions.

When Lindner gets on campus next fall, he will be soaking up every opportunity to gain knowledge about the sport of bowling from some high-level coaches.

The Briar Cliff bowling program will begin its first-ever season of competition next year with their first competition date to be determined.
