45 soldiers from Troop C of the 113 Cavalry Regiment of the Iowa National Guard received a rousing welcome home from community members in Le Mars yesterday during a Freedom Escort and a Welcome Home Ceremony.

The troops were deployed to the Middle East in May of 2025 as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, alongside 1,800 other uniformed personnel, and arrived back in the United States last week. Specialist Matthew Hackett told KLEM that the ceremony was very fulfilling.

2nd Lieutenant Jorge Sandoval told KLEM that the community has always been supportive of C Troop.
