Le Mars Community senior Caiden Heitritter signed his letter of intent to bowl collegiately at Morningside University next season.
Early on in the recruiting process, Morningside head coach Brett Hansen and Heitritter connected and formed a good bond. Heitritter says that helped make the decision a lot easier.
Another appealing trait for Morningside is its many connections to the Le Mars bowling program. Many bowlers have had success for the Bulldogs and the Mustangs, and Morningside currently sports one of Heitritter’s former teammates in Trevor Fisher. Heitritter says having him on the team helped influence his decision.
In the college game, competition is much different. It is not just the level of competition that is raised, but it is also the type of competition conditions as well. Heitritter says the college game intrigues him and offers a fun challenge that he is looking forward to tackling.
This is Le Mars’ second bowling commitment this year with Taylor Lindner signing to bowl across town at Briar Cliff. Heitritter says the program breeds success, and it is showing with the recent collegiate commitments.
Heitritter says he is looking forward to forming relationships and connecting with his future teammates at Morningside.
Many people have impacted Heitritter’s decision and his ability to bowl in college. He says that ranges from friends to coaches and everyone in between.
Morningside University bowling competes in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
