The Hinton girls golf team solidified a War Eagle Conference Tournament championship on Tuesday at Willow Creek Golf Course in Le Mars.
Hinton shot a 366 as a team which was good enough for a 12-stroke victory. The Blackhawks also had four golfers in the top six individually. Head coach Joel Small says that shows the depth that his team has formed over the season.
Ashlyn Kramer once again paced the Blackhawks shooting a 78 and winning the individual title by eight strokes. Kramer has been the driving force of this team for her whole high school career, and Coach Small says it is because of all the work she puts into her game.
Hinton had five-golfers shoot 18-hole personal-best scores including Khloe Bohlke with a 96. Coach Small says she has been a big addition for the team in her first year of playing golf.
The Blackhawks turn their focus now to the opening round of the regional postseason on Friday when they head to Orange City for a meet hosted by Unity Christian. Coach Small says conditions and courses can change, but he needs his team to play even-keeled to perform well.
Hinton’s regional opening round is set for Friday, May 15 at Landsmeer Golf Course in Orange City. Should they advance, they will head to Carroll for the regional final on Wednesday, May 20.
