Cyclists from across Plymouth County and beyond will take part in the annual Tour de Plymouth this weekend. Speaking to KLEM, Plymouth County Cyclists treasurer Mark Sturgeon gave a rundown of what bikers can expect from Sunday’s event.
Four different rides are offered to cyclists: a short route of 13.4 miles, a gravel route of 24.8 miles, a long route of 61.8 miles, and a century route of 103.8 miles. Sturgeon says most riders will utilize the PlyWood Trail during the Tour.
This is the 19th edition of the Tour, and Sturgeon says it’s the most important event on the calendar for the Plymouth County Cyclists.
Registration for the Tour de Plymouth is open online at plymouthcountycyclists.org for $30 a person, with most riders departing from the Wise I Brewing Company in Le Mars starting at 9am on Sunday.
