Local therapists Inner Spark open doors to new location
Inner Spark Therapy opened their doors to their new location along Central Avenue in Le Mars during a ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday. Speaking to KLEM, therapist Frankie Konz says the grand opening was the culmination of over a year’s worth of planning with business partner Teri Copple.
Konz says the business’ name relates to their belief that everyone has “an inner spark” and that spark never goes away even if it gets “a little cloudy or hidden.” She explained how Inner Spark came to inhabit their new location.
Konz says they’re looking to create a safe space with the new building, and that they’re excited for the future.

Today is National Bomb Pop Day
Ice cream lovers are celebrating National Bomb Pop Day today, honoring one of the most iconic frozen treats ever made. Wells Ice Cream Parlor senior manager Beth Meyer told KLEM that the parlor will be celebrating Bomb Pop’s all week long.
The Bomb Pop was invented in 1955 in Kansas City, and began to be produced by Wells Enterprises in 1991. Meyer says the Bomb Pop has become a staple treat during this time of the year.
In addition, Wells has teamed up with Wise I Brewing Company to release special Bomb Pop Sour beer crowlers available starting today at Wise I’s location in Le Mars.

Le Mars Area Chamber of Commerce bringing back Professional Education Series
The Le Mars Area Chamber of Commerce is bringing back their Professional Education Series with a Brunch & Learn on Thursday, July 9th, from 9-10am.
The session, titled “No-Budget Marketing That Actually Works,” is designed to provide practical, cost-effective strategies to help grow your business. In partnership with Startup Siouxland, formerly the Iowa West Coast Initiative, the Chamber will bring in a speaker who will demonstrate how to optimize a Google Business Profile and introduce additional free marketing tools that can help elevate your business presence.
The cost to attend is $10 for Chamber members and $20 for non-members. Attendees will also be able to enjoy coffee and light refreshments while networking and learning from fellow business professionals. Woodbury County Supervisors approve data center moratorium
Woodbury County Supervisors approved a resolution Tuesday to establish a twelve-month moratorium on the acceptance, processing, and approval of applications for all classes of data centers within the unincorporated areas of Woodbury County.
The Supervisors heard a half an hour of comments from people both for and against building data centers in Woodbury County. All five of the Supervisors, including Mark Nelson, voted to support the moratorium.
Following that, the board voted for the Woodbury County Zoning Commission to review the zoning ordinance’s permitting procedures for industrial data centers and to hold public meetings on proposed changes.
Tuesday’s actions followed citizen concerns regarding the town of Salix voluntarily annexing 900 acres of farmland in April and MidAmerican Energy confirming they were considering the site for a data center.
