Property taxes due September 30th
Plymouth County Treasurer Shelly Sitzmann reminds property owners that property taxes are due in September. The first half of Real Estate, Mobile Home and Special Assessment taxes can be paid in the office, online, or by mail throughout the month of September.
The last day to pay is this Wednesday, September 30th. It is considered delinquent on October 1st. Online payments may be made at iowatreasurers.org until midnight on September 30th.
Mail must be postmarked on or before September 30th to avoid being late. For time-sensitive mail, it is important to get a manual postmark from the clerk at the Post Office. Do not rely on dropping mail in a receptacle. Any mail with an October postmark will have a penalty, regardless of when you mail it.
Delinquent interest of 1.5% per month, rounded to the nearest dollar, is added to all unpaid taxes on October 1st. You may contact the Plymouth County Treasurer’s office if you need any information on property taxes.
