Road Closed For Bridge Repair

(Le Mars) — Plymouth County Secondary Roads Department has closed 190th Street between Hickory Avenue and Impala Avenue. The road is expected to remain closed through Wednesday, July 26th. Construction crews will be replacing a wooden bridge with a culvert pipe.

 

FLORIDA MAN MISSING IN MISSOURI RIVER HAS BEEN FOUND

ELK POINT, S.D. (AP) – Authorities have recovered the body of a Florida man fromthe Missouri River near Elk Point in southwestern South Dakota.

Union County Sheriff Dan Limoges says the body of 27-year-old Chris Reeves, of Tallahassee, Florida, was found at about 1 p.m. Friday.

Reeves was swept away while swimming with friends Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies have said that Reeves was not a strong swimmer and was not wearing a life vest at the time.

It was the third drowning in the Burbank Beach area on the river in three years.

TOWN.

A STATEMENT FROM ANTHONY PROPERTIES OF DALLAS, TEXAS SAYS MILLS FLEET FARM WILL BE THE ANCHOR STORE OF THE RETAIL CENTER.

MILLS FLEET FARM WILL OPERATE A 218-THOUSAND SQUARE FOOT STORE PROVIDING LIFESTYLE MERCHANDISE FOR FAMILIES AS WELL AS SUBURBAN AND RURAL CONSUMERS.

DEVELOPERS ALSO PLAN ON FEATURING A TIRE CENTER, CAR WASH AND CONVENIENCE STORE WITH GAS PUMPS AT THE SITE.

THE STORE OPENING IS PLANNED FOR THE FALL OF 2018.

DEVELOPER JAY ANTHONY ALSO SAYS AN ADDITIONAL 100-THOUSAND SQUARE FEET OF SPACE WILL BE TAKEN UP BY BIG BOX RETAILERS BY THAT TIME FRAME.

CONSTRUCTION OF 225 LUXURY APARTMENTS BEGAN AT THE DEVELOPMENT SITE IN 2016.

 

LIFESERVE BLOOD CENTER TO OPEN NEW LAB & OFFICES

Sioux City’s LifeServe Blood Center is building a new administrative facility in Morningside’s Singing Hills area.

The structure located on Line Drive will include a state of the art lab.

LifeServe is consolidating locations so will sell its downtown office space and former donor center located at 1019 Jones Street.

The Jones Street facility currently serves as the blood center’s western Iowa laboratory, administrative office space and distribution hub, which will all be included in the new Line Drive location.

The Line Drive building that’s being enhanced currently houses LifeServe’s blood collection vehicles.

Blood collection will not be impacted by the move, and will continue to take place at the LifeServe Donor Center, located at 4501 Southern Hills Drive.

 

IOWA STATE FAIR TICKETS AVAILABLE NOW

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) – Those planning to check out the Iowa State Fair next month can get a jump on tickets.

The Iowa State Fair Ticket Office is now open and is offering discounted tickets for admission, rides, concerts and more.

The office is located on the Fairgrounds in Des Moines and is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Walk-up orders will be available through August 9.

Adult admission tickets are $8 in advance, $12 at the gate. Children’s tickets are $4 in advance, $6 at the gate. Children 5 and under get in free.

Tickets may also be purchased online at www.iowastatefair.org or at participating Fareway, Hy-Vee, Price Chopper and Cash Saver stores while supplies last.

The fair runs Aug. 10-20.
