(Le Mars) — Creepy, wacky, musical fun is being prepared at the Le Mars Community Theatre’s Postal Playhouse. The Addams Family Musical opens Thursday, and everything you love about this on-screen family will come to life with a musical twist.
The show features some familiar community members in lead roles, such as: Jeff Neary as Gomez; Jennifer Scholten as Morticia; Breanna Pierce as Wednesday; Dalton Glawe as Fester; Brody Ohm as Pugsly and Mel Masuen as Lurch.
Many others round out this cast of over 20 to bring some big laughs and musical numbers to the Postal Playhouse stage. The show is under the direction of Shawn Starr, with Audrey Scholten producing. Musical direction is the responsibility of Father Paul Eisele, and choreography has been done by Josie Schipper.
An interesting note about Schipper- she had recently played the role of Morticia in a college production of the show, and while on summer break, brought her knowledge and talent to help coordinate the moves in the Le Mars Community Theatre rendition.
The Addams Family Musical opens this Thursday, August 16th and runs through Sunday the 19th, and then again the 23rd-26th at the Le Mars Community Theatre’s Postal Playhouse.
