Fourth Annual Northwest Iowa National Invitational Golf Tournament Returns to Le Mars

This week, college golfers from across the nation will take to the course at Willow Creek Golf Course in Le Mars for the fourth annual Northwest Iowa National Invitational. Tournament Director Dan Gray says the field will be full of elite talent.

The tournament format features a lot of golf. The field will play 54 holes of golf in two days.

A tournament like this one takes a lot of manpower to help put on. Gray says preparation for this tournament is a year-long process and involves numerous volunteers from the community.

As mentioned earlier, this tournament brings in some of the top talent that the NAIA has to offer in golf. Gray says his goal is to make this tournament the premier NAIA golf event in the fall.

All of the events at Willow Creek this week will also help benefit the future generation of golfers. All the proceeds from the tournament go towards Junior Golf of Northwest Iowa. Gray also serves as the President of the program that helps teach young ones the ins and outs of the game of golf.

The tournament is open for people to come, watch, and have a good time. Gray says there will be food and spectating opportunities throughout the tournament.

The tournament runs through Tuesday afternoon and will wrap up with a trophy ceremony following conclusion of the tournament.
