John Schneider of rural Oyens was honored Wednesday as the Le Mars Area Chamber of Commerce 2024 4th Quarter Boss of the Quarter.
The Schneider family hosted a cofffee in Le Mars to celebrate the family’s homestead, the M.P. Bogh farm in Fredonia Township. The land was purchased by John’s great reandfather in 1884. The Boss of the Quarter honor came as a complete surprise to John.
Schneider, his wife Carol, Daughter Jo Ellen, and grandson Andrew live on the family farm.
John is President of Schneider Swine, Inc. He has raised pigs since he was a 10-year-old 4-H member.
Throughout his operation, John has had loyal relationships with livestock haulers, feed truck drivers, farm consultants, and now pig care takers daily. He has also taken an active role in organizations that support agriculture and the community. He’s been a 38-year Rotary Club member, and recnetly finsihed a term as Rotary District Governor. He’s also a 52 year member of the Le Mars Municipal Bnad, and member of the Le Mars Agh Chamber Committee.
