Le Mars business is one of five finalists in The BIG Challenge, it was announced yesterday.
The Market at Shop Near the Corner, run by local entrepreneur Priscilla Kenowith, will be one of five finalists chosen for the in-person competition. Ideas were submitted by Northwest Iowa entrepreneurs for a new business or expanding a current business, with three of the five finalists chosen by online voting, and the other two finalists chosen by a selection committee.
All finalists will have 6 minutes to pitch their idea to a panel of judges during the final pitch competition, which will take place at the Wells Visitor Center and Ice Cream Parlor in Le Mars on November 20th. The winner of the competition will receive $5,000, second place will receive $3,000, and third place will receive $2,000.
The BIG Challenge is sponsored and organized by Iowa’s West Coast Initiative, and Northwest Iowa Developers.
