Hometown Le Mars Heritage Foundation welcomes new executive director

Kristen Heimgartner

The Hometown Le Mars Heritage Foundation (HLHF) has announced they’ve appointed Kristen Heimgartner as the Foundation’s new executive director.

As executive director, Heimgartner will oversee HLHF’s efforts relating to Le Mars’ tourism identity, community events, and partnerships with local businesses and organizations. Heimgartner is a native of Le Mars, and was most recently the director of sales and services for Explore Siouxland. Her work has earned her statewide awards and inclusion on Siouxland’s “10 under 40” list.

In a press release, Mike Wells, board president of HLHF, says that Heimgartner’s “deep connection to Le Mars, paired with her proven leadership in destination marketing, makes her the ideal choice to lead the Foundation.” Heimgartner herself says she’s “thrilled” to return home, and that the Foundation is “uniquely positioned to elevate our community’s story.”

The Hometown Le Mars Heritage Foundation was founded to advance the goals of Vision 2045, the City of Le Mars’ long-term community development plan. The Foundation serves as a hub for promoting tourism, managing key community events, and ensuring that Le Mars continues to be known and loved as a must-visit destination.
