Over $371,000 raised during Gehlen Catholic’s “Friday Night Lights” ball

Friends of Gehlen Catholic hold up the total dollar amount raised during Saturday’s Ball: $371,598.

The 39th annual Friends of Gehlen Catholic Ball was held over the weekend at the Le Mars Convention Center, with the evening having raised over $371,000 for the school. “Friday Night Lights” was this year’s theme, and Gehlen Catholic development director Amy Jungers told KLEM that attendees dressed accordingly.

Of the $371,000 raised, $65,000 will go towards the Ball’s “Fund-A-Cause”: a new preschool playground, complete with upgraded equipment. Jungers says all other funds raised will go towards the school’s operating budget.

Jungers says the support shown to Gehlen on Saturday went “above and beyond.”

The evening also featured a live and silent auction, a keynote address from Gehlen Catholic president Dr. Amanda Anderson, and a live performance from rock band IV Play.
