The monthly meeting of the Northwest Iowa Genealogical Society will take place next Saturday, May 16th, where Le Mars attorney Mark Hemmingson will give a program concerning the exploration of his Norwegian roots.
In his talk, Hemmingson will display artifacts, and share tales and photos from his 2018 trip to Norway. With his wife Vickie — also of Norwegian heritage — he toured family sites. During his presentation, he will address “the unique peculiarities of hands-on DIY Norwegian genealogical research, along with a bit of home country Norwegian perspective.” The Society says attendees will likely gain valuable insight into the properties of “the beautiful Scandinavian country.”
The public is invited to attend this event, and there is no charge for admission. The meeting will take place in the 4th floor Study Hall of the Plymouth County Historical Museum next Saturday, May 16th.
