The Le Mars Community girls tennis team finished off the dual portion of their regular season schedule with a 9-0 win over Storm Lake on Thursday in Le Mars.
The dual win comes off a tremendous showing at the MRAC Tournament where the Bulldogs finished second as a team. Head coach Tifany Wright says she has been extremely pleased with how things have gone late in the season.
The most competitive match of the day came in the first singles court where Britt Hessenius pulled out a 9-7 victory. She was playing there for Kali Cunningham who was competing in volleyball that night instead. Coach Wright says that puts Hessenius in a tough spot, but she has answered the call in that scenario all season.
The Bulldogs were able to get some convincing victories throughout their lineup to give many players some confidence. Coach Wright says ending the season with a dual like this is a great boost.
Le Mars next competes on Wednesday in Sergeant Bluff for their regional singles and doubles tournament. Coach Wright says footwork tweaks will pay off in some tough competition.
Action begins in Sergeant Bluff on 9:00 AM on Wednesday, September 23.
