Le Mars Community Schools Board of Education approves K-12 lunch price increase

Last night at the Le Mars Community Schools Board of Education meeting, board members approved a price increase for K-12 lunches. The price will increase from $2.60 to $3.10 on October 26th and will stay at that price throughout the school year. This is the first time since November 2014 that the district has increased K-12 lunch prices.
Dr. Steve Webner, the LCS Superintendent, explained the rationale behind the decision.
Breakfast price increases were considered, but no changes were made.
The prices of adult school lunches are set at the federal level and change each year.
The next LCS Board of Education meeting will take place on November 9th.
