Kingsley-Pierson football locks up district title with win over G-T/R-A

The Kingsley-Pierson football team clinched a district championship in Class Eight-Player District 1 on Friday night with a 28-10 win over G-T/R-A.

Kingsley-Pierson head coach Travis Neumann says this was a goal for his kids, and he is happy to see them achieve it.

Kingsley-Pierson got going early with a win in Week 0 and never looked back with their only loss to a top-five Bishop Garrigan team. Coach Neumann says this group has been special because of the energy they had for getting better.

Kingsley-Pieson’s offense was cruising thanks to the connection of Eli Schroeder and Sam Doeschot who recorded three touchdowns between the two through the air. Coach Neumann says his offense took advantage of some heavy pressure from the Titans.

With the win, Kingsley-Pierson guarantees the top seed out of their district and a minimum of two playoff games at home in the next couple of weeks. Coach Neumann says this is not the end goal, and he needs his team to stay focused on that.

The Panthers also still have one regular season game to go with a trip to Fort Dodge to take on St. Edmond. Coach Neumann says they will throw the ball a lot, so his team can not give up big plays.

Kickoff between the Gaels and the Panthers is set for 7:00 PM on Friday night at Dodger Stadium in Fort Dodge.
