Westfield City Clerk Arrested For Theft

(Le Mars) — The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the former city clerk of Westfield following an investigation.  On September 7th, the mayor of Westfield contacted the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office to inform them of a possible theft of city funds.  Westfield’s Mayor, Michael Tadlock, advised the Sheriff’s Office that they believed that a fund raiser account for the public park and the T-Ball complex was missing funds.  An investigation was done, and with that investigation a warrant of arrest was issued for Angela Sorensen of Westfield.  Sorensen was the former city clerk of the the city of Westfield.  The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sorensen on Wednesday, October 11th in Le Mars.  Bond was set at $5,000.  The charge against Sorensen was theft in the 2nd Degree, a Class D felony.  Sorensen appeared before the judge of Plymouth County and was released on her own signature.
