Firefighters Kick Off Fire Prevention Week With Pancake Breakfast

(Le Mars) — More than 540 people ate pancakes and sausages at the Le Mars Fire Station #1 Sunday morning, as the Le Mars Fire and Rescue Department held its annual pancake breakfast to kick off Fire Prevention Week.  Total Motors of Le Mars donated a detailed golf cart for the local fire department.  The golf cart will be used to help with events, such as the Plymouth County Fair, Ice Cream Days, Le Mars Sesquicentennial Celebration, and even RAGBRAI.  Le Mars Fire Chief Dave Schipper says more than $2,000 was raised, and the fire department thanks all those who donated.  The memorial fire truck raffle was won by Kim Wick.
