Melvin C. Treptow, 91,of Pierson, Iowa passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Correctionville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the Pierson United Methodist Church. Rev. Bill Cotton will officiate. Military rites will be conducted at the church by the Harrison F. Pederson American Legion Post #291 of Pierson. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Johnson – Earnest Funeral Home of Kingsley. The family will be present to greet friends from 3-7 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral on Thursday. Following the funeral service, Melvin’s body will be donated for research to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in accordance with his wishes.
