(LeMars) — An accident involving a moped and a car occurred this morning about a block away from the LeMars Community High School when students were going to school. 15-year old Victoria Hyer of LeMars was on her moped making a right-hand turn when she was struck by a car driven by 17-year old Danika Kessenich of Merrill. Hyer was transported to the Floyd Valley Hospital, but was treated and released. Kessenich was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign. The LeMars Police Department is investigating the accident.
