Rexwinkel Discusses Goals For City

(LeMars) — John Rexwinkel has been on the LeMars city council for 12 years and is seeking a fourth term as an at-large council member.  He is running unopposed.  A major concern for Rexwinkel is the city needs to keep a close eye on its expenditures.  He says the city has been able to accomplish that task through some reorganization efforts.

In the coming term, Rexwinlel wants to see a maintaining of the primary services.

Although Rexwinkel serves in the capacity of an at-large council member, he is not in favor

of any changes to the present day ward representation system of government.

Election day is scheduled for next Tuesday.

(LeMars) — Speaking of election day, polls will be open from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. at all voting locations in Plymouth County.  LeMars residents will cast their votes at the LeMars Convention Center.  Remsen has a race for the mayor position and the people of Remsen will cast their vote at the Remsen Library.  Merrill residents will vote at the Kissinger Community Center.  The Kingsley Community Center is the polling place for Kingsley residents.  Struble residents need to cast their votes at the LeMars Public Library.  Craig residents will vote at the Craig City Hall, and Brunsville residents will vote at the Brunsville Legion Hall.  Oyens residents will vote at the Oyens Town Hall, Westfield will go to the  Westfield Community Center, and Akron residents will vote at the Akron Public Library. 

 (LeMars) — The LeMars Business Initiative Corporation Board of Directors is looking to fill an at-large seat vacated by a retiring Board member.  The LBIC is made up of four representatives of the City of LeMars, four representatives of the LeMars Area Chamber of Commerce, and six more at-large positions.  All at-large positions are three year terms. 

Anyone interested in serving on the LBIC board should provide a letter stating their interest in the position and their willingness to serve a three-year term.  The letter should be sent to LBIC, 50 Central Avenue S.E., LeMars, Iowa with attention to Neal Adler.  All letters need to be received my November 18th.  The Board of Directors will hold an election at their December meeting to fill any open seats.
