Possible Kidnapping in Cherokee County

(Cherokee) — Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a white utility or cargo van possibily associated with a kidnapping.  Sheriff Dave Scott says in a news release a concerned citizen contacted the sheriff’s office after  seeing a young child in the back of the van with his hands tied and banging on the window.  Two male subjects were seen driving the van.  The van was last seen heading north on Highway 59 from the 59 and 3 intersection.  The Iowa State Patrol has aircraft currently in the air assisting with the search.  At this time, Cherokee County does not have any reports of a missing child.  If you happen to see a suspicious white cargo van, you are asked to call the Cherokee Sheriff’s office or dial 9-1-1.
