Soderberg Summarizes Legislative Session

And with the pounding of the gavel the extended Iowa legislative session came to an end…three weeks past its original scheduled adjournment date.
Some, may say the Iowa legislature may be summed up this way…when all was said and done, everything was said, but little was done.  House Representative Chuck Soderberg of Le Mars says he is glad to be home, but wishes the legislature would have been able to offer property owners some real relief in terms of property tax reform.

Still, Soderberg says there were a few accomplishments, particularly with the budget revenues.

Another area which Soderberg says the state lawmakers were able to agree was with the funding of K through 12 education.
