Branstad May Call For Special Session

(Le Mars) — Legislative leaders say they would be willing to return to Des Moines for a special session if Governor Branstad was to call for one.  Branstad is openly disappointed on how the state legislature was unable to come to an agreement on a property tax reform bill.  Le Mars representative, Chuck Soderberg says there is a possibility that lawmakers may have to return to the state capitol to continue their work on a property tax bill.

Within hours after the legislative session was finally over, Governor Branstad indicated through his staff that he may call the lawmakers back if the Senate Democrats would be willing to adopt many of the House Republican provisions.
