(Orange City) — Summer Suites in Orange City…the name doesn’t refer to sweets
like chocolate and buttery cookies, (although those will be available) it refers
to the “suite” that describes a set or a group of things that go together.
Those things are gardens and artistic performances that are sure to entertain
and spark conversation.
Summer Suites 2012 begins at 6:30pm on Monday, June 25th. Participants will
travel through 3 different Orange City gardens and enjoy a dancer accompanied by
a cellist, storyteller, and old-fashioned music performed by a guitarist and
vocalists. On the tour this year the Orange City Arts Council has decided to
feature large backyards including: Tom and Jen Olsen, featuring an acre that
feels like the country with a city address; Leroy and Jasey Kerkerix, with lots
of flowers and space for the kids to play; and Darrel and Karla Kroese, where
there’s an outdoor kitchen with a brick over perfect for pizza!
Advance tickets are required for the Summer Suites in Orange City, and can be
purchased at a discounted rate through the end of the day, Thursday June 21st at
Orange City Town Hall, the Arts Council and Dove Christian Books. Cost is $7.50
for adults, $5 for students and $22 for families. After Thursday the prices go
to $10, $7 and $30 respectively.
