Plymouth Supervisors To Meet
(Le Mars) — The Plymouth County Board of Supervisors will meet this morning at 9:30am in the Courthouse Board Room where they will canvass the vote of the Local Options Sales Tax held last Tuesday.
The County Supervisors will also get a road construction update from County engineer Tom Rohe.
Le Mars YMCA Needs Volunteers
(Le Mars) The Le Mars YMCA is in need of around 70 volunteers to help with the 2013 Sprint Triathlon. The volunteers would be needed on Friday September 6th to help with set-up and on Saturday September 7th to help with the event.
Each volunteer receives a t-shirt and a post race meal. volunteers may also use their time as service hours for school or church.The event should be finished by 1pm and it is NOT the same day this year as the Iowa-Iowa St. football game.

Floyd Valley Hospital Trustees To Meet
(Le Mars) — Floyd Valley Hospital Trustees will meet Tuesday with the intention to discuss both the loading dock relocation project, as well as the north addition expansion project.
The hospital trustees will also hear a report from hospital officials explain the recent results of the Press Ganey Quarterly Report.
Clovis “Uphold the Truth” Tour Begins
(Sgt. Bluff) U.S. Senate candidate Sam Clovis of Hinton will kick off his “Uphold the Truth” tour Wednesday in Sgt. Bluff.
Clovis, who is a professor at Morningside College and a former talk show host on KSCJ Radio in Sioux city, will speak at the Pizza Ranch in Sgt. Bluff at 11a.m. After that he will have stops in Onawa, Missouri Valley and Council Bluffs.
Company Blamed for Cyclospora Suspends Production
(Salinas, Calif.) A California company has voluntarily suspended production of salad mix at a Mexico processing facility that has been linked to an outbreak of stomach illnesses in Iowa and Nebraska.
Salinas, Calif.-based Taylor Farms announced Monday that Taylor Farms de Mexico has stopped production of salad mix and leafy greens at its facility. Production has been shifted to crops and processing facilities in the United States.
Company officials say the move allows the Mexican branch to assist federal authorities in their investigation into the cyclosporiasis outbreak.
The Food and Drug Administration says cases of the illness in Nebraska and Iowa have been linked to local Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants that are supplied by Taylor Farms de Mexico. The company says it continues to be confident in its Mexico operation.
Eckert’s Resignation Accepted
(Sioux City) The city council of Sioux City formally accepted Paul Eckert’s resignation as city manager at their Monday meeting. Eckert, who is being sued for sexual harassment by a city employee, resigned last month to become city manager at Mt. Shasta, California.
The council named Bob Padmore, who is Eckert’s assistant, to serve as interim city manager until a permanent replacement is hired.
