Herbert “Herb” Philips, 83, of Akron, Iowa passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Unity Point Health – St. Luke’s in Sioux City, Iowa.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church – Preston Township, rural Akron, Iowa. Minister Joel Nye will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Hoschler American Legion Post 186 of Akron. Visitation with the family present will be after 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2015, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., all at Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron.
