Board Of Supervisors To Receive Bargaining Proposal From Sheriff’s Office
(Le Mars) — Plymouth County Board of Supervisors will hear from Plymouth County Communications Center Supervisor Kirk Hatting and Sheriff’s Deputy Sergeant Rick Singer during this morning’s meeting. The two will present to the supervisors bargaining unit contract proposal. The supervisors will also hear from Dave Wilberding who is seeking approval of two minor subdivisions.
Two Men Arrested For False Imprisonment
(Le Mars) — Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jonathan Gonzalez, age 22, and Juan Gonzalez, age 20, both of Sioux City for false imprisonment, a serious misdemeanor. At approximately 9:21 p.m. Monday evening, the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office was called to 33617 K18 South for an incident in which the Gonzalez defendants would not allow an occupied vehicle to leave the residence and placed them in fear for their safety. Both subjects were booked into the Plymouth County Jail and bond was set at $1,000.
Secondary Road Department To Close Road For Culvert Placement
(Le Mars) — Plymouth County Secondary Roads Department will close 160th Street between county road K-64 to Pioneer Avenue beginning today. The stretch of road is expected to be closed until Friday, July 24th as work crews replace a wooden bridge with a culvert.
Le Mars Arts Center Features Many Children Activities
(Le Mars) — Attendees of the Lunch and Learn session held on Monday found out a little more about the Le Mars Arts Center. Arts Center director Judy Marineaux and Ants Center president Jean Wiener spoke to the gathering. Marineaux says the Arts Center has enjoyed some success by reaching out to children.

Man Gets Ran Over By Train
(Sibley) — State, local and railroad investigators are trying to determine how a man fell off a Union Pacific train in northwest Iowa. According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call about some suspicious items on the tracks about a half mile north of Sibley early this morning. Officials say that, upon further investigation it was determined that a male had fallen from the train and was run over. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, the name of the deceased hasn’t been released.
