UNDATED — One Plymouth County team and seven individuals qualified for the State cross country meet in Fort Dodge at Thursday’s District meets. In Class 3A at Spencer, Le Mars qualified three girls for the State meet, Chloe Calhoun (10th), Maddie Hurt (11th) and Kara Albrecht (12th). It will be Hurt’s second State meet while Calhoun and Albrecht are just freshman. Le Mars finished fourth as a team and just missed a spot in the State meet. Le Mars’ Andrew Tonner, who ran at State last fall, finished 21st Thursday and did not make it back to Fort Dodge. In Class 2A at Orange City, Woodbury Central/Kingsley-Pierson’s Suzanne Putze (1st) and KayLynne Bechen (11th) qualified for State while WC/KP’s Eric Hoffman (11th) made in the boys competition. In Class 1A at Holstein, Remsen St. Mary’s finished second in the boys meet and makes it to State in the team competition. The Hawk’s David Grady finished 9th individually. Gehlen freshman Will Roder just missed making the State meet field with a 16th place finish in the boys event. Just the top 15 go to State. Gehlen’s lone female runner, Addison Webber, finished 39th.
