(Le Mars) — The Le Mars American Legion Hall, Saturday evening, was completely filled with nearly 150 people as the local legion held its annual Bingo-Shoe party. People participated in playing bingo with the proceeds going towards the purchase of shoes for under-privileged children and families. Door prizes were distributed to those people fortunate to win and holler out “Bingo”. The Wasmer Post #241 also held a silent auction with such items as a signed autographed Green Bay Packers football, and an Iowa Hawkeyes football, oil service discounts, an evening’s stay at local motels, a bird house, and an auto-themed wall clock. Legion officials have determined the amount of money raised from Saturday evening’s Bingo and Shoe party was $4,839.
