Former Vice President campaigns in Le Mars

PENCE IN LE MARS

Former Vice President Mike Pence stopped in Le Mars yesterday, as part of an effort to re-introduce himself to voters in Iowa.  Pence says he is “well known, but not known well”, and considers a strong showing in the Iowa Republican caucuses a key to his election campaign.  Pence was asked what his administration would look like, in comparison to working in the Trump administration.

Pence says Americans have to come together to face common threats.

Pence was accompanied by his wife, Karen, and US Representative Randy Feenstra of Hull.  He says as president, he would rely on Feenstra, a member of the House Agriculture Committee, to help shape farm policy.  The committee is now working on the next five year farm bill.  Approximately 60 people attended the event at the Wells Visitors Center and Ice Cream Parlor.
