The Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network (IABN), is pleased to announce the NEW Heart of the County Fair award.
The Heart of the County Fair award has been established to honor individuals, families, exhibitors, or board members who have shown exceptional dedication and passion for their county fair and community. Six awards will be presented—one for each district in Iowa. District winners will be recognized at the county level and receive a prize package, along with special recognition at the 2025 Iowa State Fair during the County Fair Day Dinner on Friday, August 9, 2025.
For the last year, the radio network and the marketing team at the State Fair have been exploring different ideas to honor those who represent the grass root organizations who provide so much of the activities and events that we all enjoy at the State Fair.
Mindy Williamson, chief marketing officer for the State Fair said, “this is great news and we are excited about being able to provide a venue to honor those who are passionate and dedicated to their local county fair.”
Russ Parker, Operations Manager for the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network spoke for the network’s team of broadcasters. “We are honored to have the opportunity to partner with the Iowa State Fair and are excited to be the media sponsor for the new Heart of the County Fair award. Hard work at the local level resonates with our belief that local news and content is at the core of what “works” and what rural communities want to know. And the State Fair is a wonderful place to recognize that good work.”
